About

Jen’s interest in photography started at a very young age. She has studied photography in both Vancouver, Canada and in Melbourne, Australia. She is very passionate about travel photography, loves working with people, and has experience doing portraits with both studio & natural lighting. She is also very involved in the local Vancouver music scene and has been the principle photographer for many well-known local bands as well as as a contributer to a number of weddings.
In the first photography contest she entered through BCTV, Jen was awarded First Prize. In 2007 she was asked to participate in the Photo Marketing Association (PMA) exhibition in Melbourne where eleven of her photographs were hand chosen for public display. More recently, four of her photographs were voted as finalists for the Street Banner Contest and put on display at Richmond City Hall. While studying in Vancouver, several of her photos were selected for the fine art showing entitled “Reflect & Obscure.” She has also had several of her photos printed in local newspapers.
As a photographer, Jennifer strives to capture unique perspectives, creative angles, and aims to evoke emotion in the viewers. “The beauty of photography,” she says, “is that a hundred different people can photograph the same subject and every single photo will be unique, because although the subject is the same, the interpretation of that subject is up to the photographer. To take that beauty even further, the individuality of the viewer allows them to interpret that photograph unlike anybody else, therefore one single photograph is infinitely meaningful.”
